The proprietary buffer helps to extract most of the RNA without lose of RNA integrity and minimize inhibitors to co-precipitate with RNA. The resultant lyaste is transfer to silica membrane, which help to selectively binding of RNA in presence of high salt. Following binding of RNA to the silica membrane, contaminants are washed away and pure RNA is eluted. The sample is lysed with an optimized lysis buffer containing chaotropic ions, which inactivates RNAses thus preventing degradation of released RNA.
