Elements of fun and engagement are integral parts of 'Life at Xcelris', which is experienced through celebrations of festivals & functional achievements, cultural & sports activities, improvement programs etc. We aim at involving employees & their families through activities based on competitiveness, fun, rejuvenation, team building & learning.

We celebrate traditional festivals of kite flying, garba, dussehra etc and organize sports competitions, quizzes and campaigns. To increase people involvement & connectivity and speed up information exchange & decision making, we have - an online intranet portal, 'my Connect' which shares business information, internal news, key happenings, policy changes, and a lot more. We have technology driven professional culture and our members are e-enabled with laptops, BlackBerrys, and other technological devices targeted at supporting them in achieving greater efficiency and productivity.

Better living through culture
At Xcelris, we enhance better living through culture of openness, transparency & involvement of team members through various initiatives. There are various interactive platforms like Floor Meetings, Nuggets & Birthday Celebrations, Group Manufacturing Site Visit, Event Mailers through which we encourage participation of team members. There are plenty of opportunities for team members to put forward their point of view / suggestion / new ideas etc.

Women have many roles to play and in a rush to do justice to all these roles she hardly pays any attention to her health. With this thought, we planned to organize an informative session on "Nutrition & fitness" for our women team members. The session was addressed by a health expert having more than 10 years of experience in women's health & fitness domain who gave insights about individual lifestyle, common nutritional deficiencies, their impact on the body and gave tips to overcome them. She also taught some hands-on exercises and techniques to the group that they can practice in day-to-day life. To add some joy to the event, an interesting activity named "Musical Hola Hoops" was designed for the group where all the participants grooved while playing the game. This eventful evening came to an end after prize distribution ceremony and delicious refreshment. The day was highly appreciated by the women folks. The best part of the day was to look at those determined faces where everyone looked charged up to indulge in some physical regime and switch to healthy diet.

As a part of Christmas celebration this year, the team members were taken to a small outing to our state of the art dairy farm located at Modasa (located at a distance of 110 kms from Ahmedabad). The purpose of choosing this venue was to make our team members visit all the group ventures located on this campus like Solar energy plant, Bamboo plantation, in-house farming, Organic Fertilizer processing facility and Biotech Park site. This insightful visit was concluded after Secret Santa Celebration. The scenic beauty of the venue and mouth-watering lunch added a lot of sparkle and made this evening a very memorable one.

This year's Independence Day celebration @ Xcelris was as special & grand like every passed year as Team Xcelris indulged again into 'Spectrum of Expression' which is an annual Skit competition to commemorate the spirit of independence. 'Making India Better' was this year's theme for the competition to highlight the prevailing challenges of the country and to showcase some positive & progressive changes being initiated/ adopted by Governments & countrymen to overcome them and shaping the country better in all means. All the randomly formed teams worked very hard to conceptualize the theme well and came up with outstanding performances on the event day which resulted into a tough competition between them. Each performance on that day was the blend of creative writing, immensely-well characterization, powerful script/dialogue delivery, superb direction, effective resource utilization, excellent costumes/get-up & great team work. Overall, the evening turned out to be the most memorable & enjoyable one for everyone. The celebration concluded with prize distribution ceremony and light refreshment.

Carrom fever soared high at Xcelris when team members in huge numbers participated in the longest ever Carrom tournament played across the span of 2 weeks. The tournament was played in two categories i.e. Singles and Doubles. The tournament got astounding response due to enormous nominations received i.e. 32 entries for Singles and 16 entries for Doubles category. During the tournament, Xcelris witnessed many exciting and nail biting matches. The finale was the culmination of great efforts, excitement and true sportsmanship that our players exhibited throughout the tournament. A separate tournament was also organized for our PAN India sales team during their visit to HO for the Quarter Review meeting. This tournament was highly appreciated for it rejuvenated the spirits of the players as well as the spectators.

This women's day celebration was undeniably a momentous one as a visit to Blind People's Association (BPA works for providing education, employment opportunities, equal rights and quality life for differently abled people) was organized for the women team members from all the group companies of Abellon. Besides the premises visit to BPA, the members also got the opportunity to listen to the inspirational journey of the Executive Director of BPA, Ms. Nandini Rawal, who urged the group to lead a purposeful life. This visit instilled great motivation in each member looking at the differently abled people who have developed themselves up as independent & contributing members of the society. This motivating visit was much appreciated by the women group and will always be remembered in our good memories.

The theme for this year's holi celebration was 'Indradhanush' where team members witnessed all the seven colors of rainbow. The event preparation which began few days ago got overwhelming response from the team members who with great enthusiasm offered their help in beautifully designing the office premises. Since Holi is a time to make fun & merriment thus we organized a competition that was a blend of Antakshari & Quiz. The team members were divided into 4 teams namely Orange, Green, Indigo & Violet, the four colors of rainbow. The teams were tested on their IQ level, current affairs, bollywood knowledge and on their good observation skills as one of the portion of this event also included to identify the childhood photos of our own team members. The teams left no stone unturned to ensure their win and gave each other a tough competition. This remarkable event culminated into a memorable evening and concluded with mouth watering refreshment & prize distribution ceremony.

Field Team Members from across the country visited Head Office for Quarter - 3 sales review meeting from 18th January to 20th January 2018. During the review meeting, one full day was dedicated for training sessions. The sessions were conducted on Behavioral and Functional aspects by the Senior team members. The training sessions gave many important insights to the team and were hugely appreciated by the participants.

Xcelris organized Sports Day for its HO based team members as part of this year's Christmas celebration on 23 December 2017. The venue for this event was the lush green & state-of-the-art school campus of Redbrick Education Foundation which is one of our group companies into progressive education. It was indeed a special day as visit to the school made team members recollect memories of their school days and gave them an opportunity to indulge into various interesting outdoor sports activities. To make the event even more exciting, the team members were divided into four teams and were made to play various interesting activities like Triple Leg Race, Sack Race, 100/200/400 mt. Race, Penalty shoot out where teams gave each other very tough competition. This eventful day was concluded after Secret Santa celebration & gift exchange ceremony followed by Prize distribution to the winning team.

As a part of CSR initiative, Xcelris participated in 'Joy of giving week' between 2nd to 8th October 2017 in collaboration with an NGO named 'Goonj'. This noble initiative got an overwhelming response as the team members voluntarily contributed in huge amounts which led to the tremendous collection of clothes, toys, footwear, utensils, stationery etc.

This Diwali, the joys of Xcelrians knew no bounds as they participated in 'Diwali Extravaganza 2017' where they witnessed several exciting events like Rangoli making, speech by Executive Director, Ad Mad Show and Talent Show. The main attraction of the day was the Ad Mad show where all the 6 teams gave tough competition to each other as they displayed their creativity by demonstrating very creative and entertaining commercials within the short preparation time. The Talent show also added a lot of sparkle to the event as the audience got to witness some outstanding performances in the categories of Solo/ Duet/ Group singing, Poetry and dance. This memorable event was concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.

The air inside Xcelris became pious as we celebrated Ganesh Mahotsav for 7 days starting from 25 Aug 2017. It is one of those festivals that is celebrated every year with much devotion and ardor. Every team member keenly awaits this festival, as it gives us a chance to get together and pamper our devotional spirit. The preparations to welcome Lord Ganesha starts much in advance where the team members voluntarily contribute their services towards decorating the pandal. During the festival, our days begun and ended with Ganesha Aarti and prasad. The seven day festivities came to an end with Ganesha visarjan. The eco-friendly idol of Lord Ganesha was bid adieu by submerging it into the nearby river with a heavy heart.

Yet another Independence Day and yet another unique celebration to rejoice the spirit of this great day!!! 'Spectrum of Expression' is the way; Xcelris celebrates Independence Day every year. This unique platform is given to each Xcelrian for coming together and display dramatics skills in a team. This is an event where all the team members have to participate compulsorily and they become a part of a team which is selected randomly. This allows us to form teams of cross functional team members which ultimately helps significantly in team building. Within a span of 7-8 days, these teams then prepare a drama play on a given theme and exhibit on the event day which usually falls on the eve of the Independence Day.

This year, the teams were supposed to prepare and demonstrate a 'Mythological Skit' which was obviously quite a difficult task to do but all the participating teams took this challenge positively and performed outstandingly which ultimately made the duty of Judges equally challenging to decide the Winning & Runner-up teams. The memorable event concluded with prize distribution ceremony followed by refreshment. The event is certainly going to be remembered for a very long time by everyone who participated and witnessed it with great enthusiasm and spirit.

Giving a unique platform to showcase creativity to Xcelrians, a painting/drawing/sketch competition called "Splash" was organized on June 3, 2017 at Xcelris Head office where more than 25 self nominated team members participated in the competition and came up with some very beautiful and innovative creations. The competition was judged by an external judge and the best three creations were awarded. Rest of the participants were also given appreciation certificates. The event got splendid response from all the team members and concluded with an inspiration to organize more such events in future.

As a part of Holi celebration, a Quiz competition called "Quizdom" was organized on 11th March 2017 at Xcelris Head Office. Looking to the huge number of nominations for the competition, we had to select the final participants through a qualifying round. As a result of this process, total 4 teams were formed which competed with each other in the final round of the competition on the event day. The competition, as expected was a thrill & exciting ride both for the participants & audience. All the four teams gave a tough fight to each other till the last round and made the competition enjoyable & memorable for everyone. The Winning & Runner-up teams were felicitated with prizes while the remaining participants were given appreciation certificates for participation. The event was certainly a huge success and everyone who witnessed or participated will not forget it for a long time to come.

The objective of this year's Women's Day celebration at Xcelris was not just fun but to make the women team members get inspired to succeed out rightly in their corporate career overcoming all the challenges. To translate this learning, we had invited Ms. Neepa Shah (Vice President & Cluster Head - Axis Bank) who shared her own rich experience with Abellon Group female team members on how a working woman can triumph in her career confronting the personal as well as professional challenges. It was really a great interactive session followed by some fun group activities and was concluded with chocolate distribution & mouth watering refreshment. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone & was able to make everyone proud of being a working woman and inspire to go higher & higher.

Christmas celebration always remains a special event at Xcelris in which every year entire team witnesses some of the very unique & interesting activities aiming to create a healthy & fun loving environment. To engage each & every Xcelrian, "One Minute Game" competition was conducted as a part of Christmas celebration on 24^th December 2016 at Head Office in which all the participants thoroughly enjoyed some thrilling & exciting games demonstrating great enthusiasm & team work. The celebration traditionally concluded with gift & chocolate distribution by Secret Santa to all the team members followed by refreshment. Winners of the One Minute Game were also felicitated with prizes. The event got an overwhelming response from all the Xcelrians as always.

Dussehra being the foundation day for most of our group companies, was celebrated with great ardor at Xcellon Institute campus. The event was attended by the team members from all the group companies of Abellon. The event began with a Yagya followed by a inspiring speech by Mr. Aditya Handa who reflected upon the various milestones been achieved by all the group companies in the last one year. He also requested the team members to introspect and identify the evils in them and work towards overcoming them. The event picked up its momentum as the felicitation ceremony began. In total, Xcelrians bagged 12 awards i.e. 5 in "Long Service Award" and 7 in "Achievement Awards".

Xcelris celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi every year by establishing and worshiping Ganesha idol for 7 days seeking good fortune, success and happiness for all its team members.

Independence day celebration is one of those celebrations that every Xcelrian look forward to with much excitement as we celebrate this festival with the way of 'Spectrum of Expression' which gives a platform to our team members to display their dramatics skills. Also, it is one of those few events where participation of each team member is compulsory thus making it such a grand event. This year, the theme of the event was to leave a strong social message through the skit. All the 5 skits presented were full of emotions and drama where each skit ended with a strong social message. Prizes were been conferred to the participants of the winning and the runner-up team. This entertaining event was concluded after the luscious refreshment and lots of applaud for the participants by the audience.

The joys of Xcelrians knew no limits as they participated in the annual get together event organized on May 16, 2016 at one of the beautiful and happening resorts near Ahmedabad. Every year, one such outing is been planned so as to give our team members a day away from the work and to give them an opportunity to relax and build rapport with others. This exciting day commenced with the Outbound Training sessions by an expert, followed by a vision session by our CMD, post which the felicitation ceremony took place where good performers of the last year were been awarded.

To add to the fun, few of our team members also presented some talent acts after which the team members were left to enjoy the various amenities of the resort. Towards end of the evening, everyone had a ball as they grooved on the DJ floor. This exciting evening came to an end after the pool side luscious dinner which remained as one of the major attractions of the evening. The entire team of Xcelris left no stone unturned in ensuring this event's inevitable success.

Holi at Xcelris is always celebrated in a special way as it is a festival to have fun and enjoyment. So this year, a musical evening of Antakshari was organized where 4 teams namely "Sur", "Taal", "Sargam" & "Aalap" were formed. The teams gave each other neck to neck competition and the winning team was conferred with prizes. The event concluded after the mouth watering refreshment. All in all, it was a very vibrant event where everyone had a gala time.

This women's day, the spirit of feminism was up in the air as Xcelris celebrated this day with much excitement and vivacity. This event was attended by the women team members from all the group companies of Abellon. This exciting event commenced with a Zumba session by an expert trainer followed by some fun games and was concluded after the refreshment. The event was a big success as everyone enjoyed every bit of it and was able to bring smiles on the faces of our lovely team members.

This Christmas, Xcelrians witnessed something that they have never experienced before in the history of Xcelris, the Magic Show. Everyone was spellbound and bewildered as the magician spread his magic all over. Also, one of the major attractions of the evening was the Santa who distributed gifts & chocolates to all and made everyone groove, sing and have fun. This joyous evening was marked by a high amount of appreciation and merriment.

Entire Xcelris family had a cheerful and a buoyant time on the eve of the Annual Get-together that was organized on 9th April 2015 at one of the descent resort near Ahmedabad. This Get-together was planned to give our team members a break from their routine work; also to give them a platform to get familiar with the colleagues. The team members enjoyed every second of the evening as they got themselves engaged in many happening activities including indoor and outdoor games, water park, DJ, mouth watering food and many such fun activities. The attraction of this evening was the vision session by the Chairman & Managing Director of the company. It truly was a very mesmerizing evening with loads of memories to cherish for.

Like every year, this Holi was also celebrated in a very unique way at Xcelris. To immerse our team members in the festive mood, a Talent Hunt competition called 'Xcelris Talent Hunt' was organized on 5th March'15. This was basically a talent hunt show where participants were allowed to showcase their talent in the form of any act of their choice. Participants performed various entertaining acts including Singing, Mono- Acting, Mimicry, Instrument playing, Shayari and many more such entertaining performances. The event got a overwhelming response from one and all. Top three performers were been felicitated with rewards and appreciation certificates were been conferred to all the participants.

Leadership training program for Field Sales Managers was conducted at Head Office (Ahmedabad) where Sales Managers from across country learned lessons on effective Leadership from veterans of group companies. Role play was one of the interesting part of the program where the managers were asked to act on the real situational problems that they face often in the field. The program was hugely appreciated by the participants.

Xcelris celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi every year by establishing and worshiping Ganesha idol for 7 days seeking good fortune, success and happiness for all its team members. Continuing its tradition, this year also Ganesha Idol was established on Ganesh Chaturthi i.e. on 29th August 2014 and every day all the team members will pray Lord Ganesha till 4th September the day on which the idol will be immersed into the sea.

Team Xcelris attended the Flag hoisting ceremony held on the occasion of our 67th Independence day along with the team members of entire Abellon group. The ceremony was held in the premises of Xcellon Institute of Management, one of the Abellon group companies. The event began with flag hoisting followed by an inspiring speech by one of the senior management team member. The spectators at the event also witnessed some of the cultural activities including patriotic songs and musical instruments beautifully presented by some of the team members.

Every year, Team Xcelris celebrates the independence day in a special way by encouraging it's team members to demonstrate their expression skills in an event called "Spectrum of Expression". This activity was initiated before 2 years and since then it is being organized every year as a part of Independence Day celebration with some very unique themes.

This Independence Day, the theme was "Musical Skit" whereas all the team members were randomly divided into groups and each group was asked to prepare and present a musical skit without any dialogues in it. All the groups worked very hard and came up with very innovative & interesting musical skits on the event day i.e. on 14th August 2014. The acts were combination of very melodious songs & rhymes. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by everybody and it was really an evening filled with fun & enjoyment.

Illumina's latest mid throughput sequencer NextSeq500 was inaugurated today by Mr. Aditya Handa, MD and Founder, Xcelris Labs. The occasion marked the enthusiastic presence of several leaders from Abellon group companies and all Xcelris team members.

With the addition of NextSeq500 latest high-throughput desktop sequencer by Illumina to our sequencing facility, we now have data generation capacity of ~120 Gb or 400 million reads in just a day!!. NextSeq500 is one more step taken by us in order to be the most preferred genomics service provider of industry.

On 4th April'14, the entire team of Xcelris including the field team witnessed a fun frolic eve at Starz club & Resort. This event was aimed at getting our team members together and giving them a break from their usual routine. The teams enjoyed indoor & outdoor games followed by a Dance & Dinner party. This outing was indeed very amusing, leaving so many memories to cherish to.

Xcelris celebrated National DNA Day which commemorates the discovery of the famous "Double Helix Structure" by James Watson and Francis Crick on 25th April, 1953 and also the historic completion of Human Genome Project in 2003. Both these events formed a base in the quest to unlock the mysteries of this beautiful science. On this day we recommit ourselves to partner researchers to make a better world through genomics.

With an intention to promote engagement in our team members and to bring out their talent, the HR department of Xcelris planned a painting competition named 'SPLASH' on 16th of May 2014. The participants were allowed to draw any painting/sketch as per their wish. The participants came up with some beautiful and creative drawings and paintings. This competition was judged by an external judge and the best three paintings were awarded. This event got an overwhelming response from our team members and was concluded with a promise of many more such enjoyable events in the times to come.
